The Apostle Paul had less than a month to establish a new church in Thessalonica. The new believers wrote him their questions about the coming return of Christ and other matters. So Paul wrote one letter to deal with those questions, and soon after wrote a second letter to resolve problems related to bad doctrine that led to bad lifestyle for some of them - and for us as well.

Bill and Doris Smallman served in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, from 1970-1979 in seminary ministry and church planting. Then Bill was invited into the administration of Baptist Mid-Missions at its headquarters near Cleveland. Over the next 30 years he processed over 1000 new missionary candidates, completed his doctorate in Missiology, ministered in 27 countries all over the world, and set up an online study program for missionary enrichment. He retired from that post as a Vice-President of BMM at the end of 2009. Bill still teaches occasionally as an adjunct professor of Missiology for a variety of Baptist seminaries, and for Baptists for Israel Institute. Bill left a budding career as an aerospace design engineer to follow the call of God to world missions. No regrets! It has been a high privilege to serve the Lord of the Harvest for a lifetime, saved as a teenager and later called to missions wherever God directed.
