Synopsis
The Land Beside, the third in the Land series by the author, is a contemporary fantasy story set in the 21st century. The protagonist, Josie, has more adventures in a mysterious land beside her house, where she meets aggressive people, robots and two shamans. The story enlarges to include visits to real lands like Mongolia, Shanghai and Dubai, where Josie meets people of different personalities and has more adventures in these places. A cousin, Henk, appears in this story. He comes from a background quite different from her own. This results in conflict in the relationship between Josie and Henk. The writer has woven throughout the storyline the values of trust, friendship, love and gratitude.
