Barbara Sattler has been a criminal defense lawyer and a judge for thirty year. She has tried over 75 cases including first degree murder and aiding the IRA. In 2008 she retired and began to write about her experiences. Besides writing she is on two non-profits boards, The Haven, a substance abuse treatment center for women and the Transverse Myelitis Association (TMA) which supports adults and children with rare neurological diseases and funds research. All proceeds of her novels go to the TMA.Barbara lives in Tucson with her husband, Kenney Hegland, who is a law professor and writer and her beloved dogs Toby and Teddy.Her previous novels, My Name is Molly, Anne Levy's Last Case and Dog Days are about criminal defense lawyers.
