ROB MURPHY - is currently Assistant General Manager of the Detroit Pistons and President of the Motor City Cruise. Prior to ascending to the NBA to assist in restoring the Pistons franchise, Murphy was hired as the head coach of the Eastern Michigan men's basketball program, April 21, 2011. In his first season, he guided the Eagles to their first ever Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Title. For his efforts in leading the team to the West Championship, Murphy was named 2012 MAC Coach of the Year and National Association of Basketball Coaches District 14 Coach of the Year. In Murphy's first eight seasons he's accumulated 144 victories with the Eagles while graduating 93% of his student-athletes. Murphy departed EMU as the 2nd winningest coach in the programs history. Over the past twenty-eight years, Murphy has had a positive impact on the lives of many through his coaching/teaching assignments and the Rob Murphy Foundation, an organization providing support and opportunities for youth in under-served areas.
