Synopsis

John "Coog" Mitchell Jr. has had an affinity for string instruments for as far back as he can remember. He has always been fascinated with not only the sounds of conventional instruments but also the music within the stretched and taut string of the archer's bow, the guy rope of the camper's tent or anything that has a string, rope, or wire attached. He hopes that all who pick up and strum the Canjo will be filled with joy, peace, and happiness. In this book, John Mitchell has selected many of his favorite hymns and arranged them for the canjo. We thank him for his countless hours with canjo books and our many musical endeavors. Songs touch our hearts and lift our spirit. When shared and lifted together in voice, songs bind us to one another.Traditional hymns have been central to church services for generations. If you grew up in such a church, the selections in this book will likely evoke many memories. The words and music calm, inspire and encourage us. This is the fourth book in the Porch Music Store Canjo music series all available on Amazon.com as well as in our Franklin, PA store. Others in the series include: The Canjo Music Book, Can you Canjo, and Pickin' on the Porch which is another advanced player book.
