Rick Crecraft grew up in a beautiful suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a boy, he enjoyed barefoot summers netting turtles, tadpoles, fish, snakes and frogs from nearby ponds. These adventures, and those at Maine’s Camp Kieve and Put Stowe’s Adirondack camp, provided inspiration and content to this story. Fishing the Florida Keys and reading ‘Sports Afield’, ‘Outdoor Life’ and ‘Field and Stream’ further sparked this book’s writing.
