Fred Jessett writes fiction and creative non-fiction. His stories, columns and articles have appeared in numerous publications including the Seattle Times and The Sun. Born in Wenatchee, Washington, he attended public schools in Olympia, Everett, and Seattle’s Lincoln High. While a student there, and at the University of Washington, he was a drummer in the Seattle Pipe Band and the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band. For 17 years he has officiated at Kirkin’ O’ the Tartan service at the Pacific Northwest Highland Games and Clan Gathering. After service in the U.S. Army Fred became an Episcopal priest and served in Montana, Washington State and on the reservation of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Sicangu Lakota Oyate, in South Dakota. He and Kris, his wife of 57 years, have four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
