Knowing your purpose allows you to prioritize your life and simplify decision making. It will give you the freedom to eliminate things that are not in line with your calling, leaving room to Fulfill purpose.The art of finding and fulfilling purpose is being intentional in your daily thoughts, words, and actions. It is lining up the way you live, with the life you were created for. Too often we are paralyzed by fear and mediocracy (a system in which mediocrity is rewarded). Once you understand you are created for a purpose and make a decision to fulfill that purpose, you will be unstoppable.

I am married to my best friend, which is awesome because in marriage you need laughter just as much as romance. We have four incredibly beautiful and smart children, two boys and two girls. They remind us every day that God loves us and gives us way more than we deserve. No pets – with four kids, at any given moment one of them may display pet-like qualities so we are all set. We are a family of Jesus followers. We strive to live on purpose by actively living out our faith. It is a journey that requires grace, patience, and second chances. Knowing Jesus loves us, flaws and all, helps along the way. At a young age I began to uncover that writing was one of my gifts. I embraced it here and there but was always passive about it being a real talent. Whenever I needed to express strong emotion I was able to do so with pen and pad. Today I embrace my gift and use it daily. I started a blog a short time ago and it has been a great way to connect with others and use my gift. (My blog can be found at liveonpurposeblog.org) I love to write. It relaxes me and entertains me at the same time. Often times when I am writing I feel closer to God. When I was in the second grade we were learning how to write in cursive. My teacher regularly corrected the way I held my pencil. She used to walk past my desk, take my pencil out of my hand, and without a word I knew why. One day she held the pencil with me. She guided my fingers around the piece of wood and lead so I could feel how to properly hold the writing utensil. Something clicked, I finally got it. She would periodically wrap her hand around mine to confirm I was doing it correctly and give me an approving smile. Today when I write I feel God’s presence so closely, it is as if His hand is wrapped around mine and He is holding the pencil with me. He is showing me that He is pleased and when I use my gifts I am closer to Him. Studying the Bible has been a part of my life since my youth. I enjoy learning and teaching. This Bible study was birthed out of my own journey of accepting my gifts and using them at a greater level.
