Carey Scott preached his first sermon at the age of 16. He would preach off and on for several years usually filling in for someone or helping out smaller congregations. In 1991 he began preaching at a small congregation in Houston, Texas. He went on to preach in Madisonville, Texas. After he retired from the trucking industry, he began his first full time work with the church in Ranger, Texas. Through the providence of God, an opportunity came available in Newark California to preach and that is where he currently preaches and ministers to the members there.
