Naturalists SALLY ROTH and MATT BARTMANN are the people behind Happy Crab Press, which published this book. Sally’s the author of many books about gardening, birds, and nature, and a contributing editor of Birds and Blooms magazine; Matt’s a photographer and editor who also loves cool old cars. Matt and Sally love learning and laughing. They live in a small, remote cabin high in the Rocky Mountains, with their dog Koko, Packrat Bob, and lots of wild friends outside. OLIVIA GALLAGHER is a 13-year-old student who loves art and nature. She enjoys drawing, painting, and taking photographs of birds, animals, and nature. She hopes to study to become a wildlife biologist with a focus on ornithology and preservation. Olivia lives on a lake in New Jersey with her two younger sisters, dog, cat, and hermit crab. She loves watching the wildlife there, including bald eagles, foxes, muskrats, swans, and many varieties of songbirds.
