"This adventurous book of narratives was first published in 1935 by my great grandfather Garrett V. Albertson who wrote in the forward, “hoping that these stories may go on working after the writer of them shall have closed earthly labors, this volume is dedicated to all who may be interested in reading it.” It is the exciting account of his life and work as a Sunday school missionary and evangelist to America’s raw western frontier around 1890 and beyond to places like Oklahoma and Kansas – back when they were just territories full of lonely trails, Indians, wild beasts and bandits." ~Andrew G. Shaffer, Great Grandson of Garrett V. Albertson

Not a writer by trade, Rev. Garrett V. Albertson wrote charmingly about his “life and labors” in this book, which was originally titled "Kingdom Stories," and first published in 1935. Despite wonderful reviews at the time, this narrative work was never republished, and only a handful of original copies remain, mostly in the hands of family members. Rev. Albertson died in 1952, and few ever got to know of him or his heart after his death. In just the last year or so while reading his writings, talking to relatives, and reading some of his old personal papers, his great grandson, Andrew Shaffer felt it his sacred duty to republish this narrative (and one other writing) so others can be inspired and encouraged by this humble man who was so dedicated to his life’s calling. Andrew resides in GA where he has been married for over 40 years to his wife Cathy. They have two adult sons, and eight grandchildren. Andrew has been a Christian since the age of 14.
