Jumping Ship is a devotional for anyone who has suffered through some type of abuse or trauma, written by two survivors of sexual abuse. This book is designed in a way that you can document your dialogue with God regarding your own unique experiences - reading, reflecting on scripture, and journaling daily or weekly for one full year. In their first book, a memoir entitled Nursing the Wounds, the authors explained the phenomena of the "abuse boat." This book takes the reader on a journey into a closer relationship with Jesus - jumping ship off of the abuse boat, and diving deep into the scriptures to self-reflect and break free, for good! Dawn Compton wears many hats as a wife, mother, author, and advocate. She holds a Master's degree in nursing and has been a Registered Nurse for sixteen years. She has a passion for advocacy and worship, and is currently working toward establishing a Child Advocacy Center in the county in which she resides in Mississippi. Amanda Schrader resides in Texas and is spending her days focusing on her family and her writing. She has a passion for advocacy and ministry. She loves sharing her testimony every chance she gets because it witnesses to the mercy of God. The authors penned their memoir, Nursing the Wounds, which details the amazing way that God united them - first at a chance encounter one summer, then seventeen years later as nurses and survivors who were led to cofound Voice for the Silenced. Jumping Ship is the authors' second book to write together. You can reach out to Dawn and Amanda by visiting their social media platforms for Voice for the Silenced, such as facebook.com/nursingthewounds, or email them at nursingthewounds@gmail.com.
