In my career as a BBC journalist and broadcaster and a national and regional journalist, I’d written my fair share of stories about The Unexplained which piqued my interest in the paranormal. This led me to membership of the widely-respected Society for Psychical Research, and the British Society of Dowsers where I learned the art of divining. After establishing the Guernsey Society of Dowsers, I went on to focus my dowsing skills on the areas of Health and Subtle Energies. I later taught dowsing at the Guernsey College of Further Education and I still run workshops on both dowsing and energy healing. Through all my many years of researching the metaphysical, esoteric, mystical, occult, paranormal, the Mysterious and Things That Go Bump in the Night I’ve come to the conclusion that The Unconscious Mind is the one factor common to them all. Which means that everyone has access to psychic or so-called paranormal powers. This is now my mission – to encourage everyone to use their sixth sense to fulfil their potential. I found dowsing to be a practical way of harnessing the energies we’ve talked about in this book. My first venture into fiction was a radio play, an occult thriller ‘Ghost in the Machine’, broadcast in South Africa and Ireland. I’ve now followed that up with two novels Ticket to a Killing, a ‘Woman in jeopardy’ thriller featuring reporter Emma Holgate, and The Kirov Conspiracy in which the hero is a media boss, Paul Scott, who uncovers a scheme by a Russian mobster to use drugs money to help fund Putin’s war in Syria. I now have plans for other works of fiction, based on my experiences both in the media and in the field of the supernatural.
