As divorce statistics continue to rise, so too does the amount of emotional, social, spiritual, and economic damage caused when marriages end.
Divorce has become easier than the effort of rebuilding a troubled marriage. And yet, so often, those who survive difficult divorces say that if they could rewrite the past, they would never have divorced. Because divorce is so readily available, people don’t consider the long-term ramifications of the act until it’s too late.
In Before You Say “I Don’t,” Pastor Rick Goff provides a workbook and guide for couples considering divorce. Goff asks you to think about why you married before going on to give you reasons to stay together—and the tools to help you do so. Most important, he reminds us of what God intended for marriage and how divorce has negative effects on families, children, and, on a larger scale, the nation.
Some marriages will end in divorce. This is an inevitability. But before yours does, isn’t it worth making every effort to save it? Have faith in the purpose of marriage, and ask God for the healing needed to keep your family safe from the chaos of divorce.
