Synopsis

This book is all about you. But it’s only about you; it’s not actually you. That seems obvious, how can some words on a piece of paper actually be you? Nevertheless, this is what happens naturally in your mind all of the time. You put some words, as thoughts, together. I was born in London, I am 30 years of age, I am a doctor etc. You take those words and start to identify with them. You form a walled-off separate ball of thought patterns, which we call the ego, inside of your mind. Ok, the words are not written in a physical book, like this one, but they are written as physical thoughts in your brain as memory. So, you do indeed have a book of yourself inside of you written in words and images just like a normal book, it’s just that we don’t realise they are there and we see that internal book as actually being us. So, this physical book, that you are reading, is not the actual book that you should be reading, that is inside of you. This book is like the index or contents of your internal book. It’s just a pointer or signpost of where you find the various pages internally. Like a map of your internal mind.

À propos de l'auteur

Anthony Roland Lethbridge was born in Kensington, West London just after the Second World War. He is partly a product of the large-scale changes in society that occurred at that time. It was the swinging 50's and 60's in London; the time of scientific advancement, miniskirts, long hair, the Beatles and freedoms, that had not been known before. This included a greater freedom of thought without the reactions of the pre-war establishment and the church. Along with the increased freedoms generally people were fed up with war and fighting and wanted to create a less aggressive and less formal society. Everything was much more laid back and open to debate than the earlier Victorian era. The secular society was formed. Anthony went on to study Medicine at Guy's Hospital London (qualifying as a Doctor in 1976) and later joined the Royal Air Force. After marrying and having two children he was obviously very busy. He did not have time to write with the commitments of work and family, and it was not until his family had grown up that he had the opportunity to complete his first book `THE GIST IN THE MIST' on the basis of reality. Following on from the conclusions of this book he then went on to write ‘THE ABYSS TO BLISS’ followed by the ‘BOOK OF YOU’.
