Synopsis

New memory rescue takes place in the 22nd Century as it chronicles the partially successful first attempts to archive human consciousness. Written as an experiment in spoken stream of consciousness transcribed by speech recognition software, then re-written, Lichty takes a cyber-Burroughsian stance toward Science Fiction. Borrowing from mid 20th Century writers like Lem, Heinlein, and Roddenberry, Lichty obliquely takes on politics and ecological issues in the world of The Archive, of which new memory rescue is a part. Abstraction, humor, and dystopian fiction collide in this novel drawn from quantum parallel universes where anything you may have considered has happened. If so, is new memory rescue fiction, or a documentary?
