Synopsis

The darkness of the mind is something that is often forgotten in modern day America. However, it was only decades ago that asylums housed lost souls that, perhaps not crazy upon entry, were certainly broken down into the depths of insanity by the time they departed. Photos capture that which a tortured mind can only see, and short stories and poetry reveal the ugly truth behind why these institutions were eventually shut down without recourse. Oni – Whispers in the Snuff Box will send chills through even the most sane and sensible, revealing that we are all hiding ghosts in a darkness of our own. This collection features photos by photographer Bryan Thompson of Graffiti Photographic, models Ophelia Darkly and Seth Nayes, and styling by Little Alice. Featuring “Garden of Shadows” with credit to ??. Short stories and poems written by Little Alice take the reader down the dark staircase to the brink of madness.
