An atomic bomb has exploded at the annual G20 conference in Hamburg, Germany setting off a cascade effect across the globe. The United States was already experiencing food and fuel shortages, electricity interruptions. EMS services no longer rolled when fires engulfed buildings and gunshots rang out in the streets. Eight brave groups try to survive the first day. Group One: Steven and Joy are separated by 200 miles. Joy and their three kids are traveling in southeast Oklahoma. They all are in a desperate race to find shelter and each other. Group Two: Chonna, the teenage daughter of a software designer living in Silicon Valley and Rusty her body guard run for the foothills using advanced technology. Group Three: Jamal recently left the military, Janet his wife trying to go to school. Their two young kids, all living in the inner city. The combat zone. Martial law trying to keep them in the zone. They make a desperate run for the Detroit River with help from Walter an old retired military veteran. Group Four: Corderus, half Navajo, visiting his grandparents on the reservation for the first time. The Dine believe in harmony with nature. They head to the old Pueblo village called Keet Seel and Betatakin, a return to the old ways of life. Group Five: Ann, 15 years old who lives with her dad, Brian, in a high rise. Inner city revitalization gone wrong when the tower catches on fire trapping Ann and her dad on the 25th floor. No place to go but up. A story about a desperate struggle to survive a collapsing building. Group Six: Four friends on a cattle ranch, four families, the "Four Square Ranch" comes under attack from cattle rustlers and a drug cartel. Everybody in the family must fight to save the ranch and preserve their way of life. Group Seven: Johnny and Rachel, a true love story. Separated by ten years for bad behavior. They find themselves on a mercy flight with five orphaned newborns. They hop from town to town in a small plane trying to find a place to stay before the world collapses around them. Group Eight: Military life can be tough on families. This story involves two groups of kids. The first group is a school for 15 troubled military brats and their eight teachers, special forces with blown covers. The second group is fifty kids fleeing from Nellis Air Force base and potential WWIII. North Korea sends a bungling group of 25 special forces on a suicide mission using an old DC-3.
