Synopsis

The late Arnold J. Rudolph, MD was the most meticulous photographic archivist in all of neonatology. In a practice spanning forty years, Dr. Rudolph collected photographs of virtually every disease, disorder, and condition affecting the newborn. This material has been published in a five-volume masterwork, from which this ""Brief Atlas"" has been derived. In this derivative book, colleagues of Dr. Rudolph have assembled a representative sampling of the most common disorders of the newborn in a compact, economical format. The major sections cover neonatal-perinatal medicine, musculoskeletal disorders and congenital deformities, and problems of the head, neck, eye and central nervous system. Dermatology and perinatal infections are addressed, followed by systemic problems encountered by newborns.
