Synopsis

In a small town like Chesterville, homicides are a rarity and it is no surprise that the violent death of the richest man in town, J. A. Bussières, shakes up the entire population. As Chief of Police Roméo Dubuc investigates the motives of several questionable characters, the pieces of this stirring mystery fall into place. Is it just a coincidence that Bussière's son, who hated his father, escaped from the psychiatric hospital the very day his father died? Was Marguerita Bussières tired of having a husband who cheated on her? Twists and turns abound as Dubuc sifts through the clues in this expertly crafted thriller.
