Synopsis
A wide range of technologies are available to libraries for both public and technical services. As these technologies proliferate and change, library staff must understand what they are and their uses. This basic primer explains each type of technology and discusses its practicalities in the library environment. Among the topics covered are: evaluation; troubleshooting; systems and networks; and adaptive and assistive technology. It concludes with a look at the future of information technology and its impact on libraries.
