À propos de l?auteur

John J. Burke is the director of the Gardner-Harvey Library on the Middletown regional campus of Miami University (Ohio), USA. He holds an MS in library science from the University of Tennessee and a BA in history from Michigan State University. His past work experience includes service as both systems/public services librarian and program director for a web-based associate’s degree in library technology at the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters College and also as a reference and electronic resources librarian at Fairmont State College (West Virginia). A past president of the Academic Library Association of Ohio (ALAO) and past chair of the Southwest Ohio Council on Higher Education (SOCHE) Library Council, he has authored or co-authored numerous books, including the three previous editions of The Neal-Schuman Library Technology Companion: A Basic Guide for Library Staff, IntroNet: A Beginner's Guide to Searching the Internet, and Learning the Internet: A Workbook for Beginners. He has presented on a variety of technology topics at the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and American Library Association (ALA) conferences, the Library Information and Technology Association (LITA) National Forum, and various regional and state conferences.
