The original 16 chapters have all been revised and updated based on recommendations from reviewers and changes that have occurred in theory, diagnosis and treatment since the first edition was published. Three new chapters have been added to address the area of low vision. Chapter 15 is an introductory chapter and provides an overview of the low vision evaluation, low vision aids, and low vision rehabilitation from an optometric viewpoint. Chapter 16 describes the various professional disciplines involved in low vision rehabilitation and how occupational therapy fits into the team of rehabilitation professionals. The final chapter on low vision is written by an occupational therapist who has developed a low-vision rehabilitation programme in her rehabilitation facility.
