Originally published as a single volume, The Heart of Listening has been re-issued as two separate volumes because of public demand for a more concise, portable edition. Milne, a third generation Scottish osteopath, begins by explaining the visionary approach to healing, and how it may be applied to the realm of craniosacral work. In the second volume, Milne details the anatomy, physiology, energetics, and techniques that are the essential core of visionary craniosacral work. His particular genius lies in his ability to weave a delicate tapestry of narrative, poetry, and scientific fact into a fascinating and insightful exposition of the visionary healing arts.

Hugh Milne is a third-generation Scottish osteopath. He spends most of professional time teaching visionary craniosacral work in Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, and Switzerland. He was born in 1948 and received his professional training at the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy in London. Repeated and startling clairvoyant revelations before and after graduation led to a determination to learn more about working with the inner eye. This search for higher teachings took him to India, where he lived for seven years. Hugh spent the last fifteen years developing his teaching work. He lives in Big Sur, California, where he is the director of the Milne Institute.

Trade Paperback. Etat : Very Good. Fourth Printing. 322 Pages. A General Index and an Index of Techniques. Tape repair to a three inch tear at top spine of the cover. Corners slightly turned up. No marks. Interior text pages are flawless. This book is for those in a teaching field that is difficult to put into words. It embodies the uniqueness of its author, who offers a rare combination of being a highly skilled healing practitioner and biomedical theoretician along with a spiritual vision. Originally published as one book, it is now available as two volumes to meet the demand for a more portable edition. This book can be used as a workbook to guide the healer in further development in visionary craniosacral work. It can also be used as study material and reference book for those with a deep and abiding interest in human nature and human anatomy. In this second volume, Milne details the structures of the human craniosacral system as understood in the osteopathic and energetic models. He clarifies the anatomy, physiology, pathology, and energetics of each salient craniosacral structure, and goes on to explain how the practitioner might gain insight into what troubles the client, and what the client needs, by listening to the song of those structures. The founder of craniosacral work, William Sutherland, repeatedly emphasized the importance of the practitioner being able to visualize the internal structures in minute detail. Milne provides the informational base to assist the practitioner in his or her development toward that vital goal. The addition of a visionary perspective deepens the practitioner's capabilities in the healing arts. Non-invasive techniques for each important bony, muscular, or membranous structure are described in illustrated detail. Milne's genius lies in his ability to articulate a narrative of poetry, and scientific fact into an insightful visionof the healing arts. Contents in Four Parts: Anatomy and Physiology, The Bones, Special Applications, and Protocols and Texts. A large heavy book that may incur additional charges for shipping to some locations.
