The Adams Ranch began in 1937, when Alto Adams Sr. bought several hundred head of scrub cows native to Florida. Lee Gramling is a sixth-generation Floridian who lives in Gainesville. He is an admirer of the late Louis L’Amour and was inspired by the tales of the Florida frontier he heard from his grandparents.
