Probable first edition (no direct statement upon copyright page). 208 pages. Hardcover: H 22.25cm x L 14.25cm. Dust jacket lightly rubbed, minor bumping at spine ends, top corner of front flap is price-clipped. Red cloth with bright gilt stamped spine lettering. Strong crease to bottom corner of pages 135-136. Laid-in between pages 122-123 is an August 22, 1997 article from the Jackson, Mississippi Clarion Ledger newspaper regarding the author, a retired Jackson lawyer, and his book which details McCullen's experiences as a POW in German Stalag XIB and Stalag IIA. Taken prisoner while in combat at the Siegfried line (Siegfriedstellung) near Geilenkirchen, McCullen served as a rifleman in the Company L Railsplitters, 333rd Regiment, 84th Infantry Division, U.S. Army.
