Paperback. Etat : New. By the editors of The Onion, Citizen You! takes on the Bush administration through the kind of topnotch satire for which The Onion is known. Using the format of a series of fake government pamphlets compiled in one book, it tackles Bush's scare mongering, war mongering, stripping of civil liberties, damage to education, and favored charity of donating to rich guys. It is at once hilariously funny and deeply depressing. Coming out in time for the 2004 US elections, this is a better citizenship handbook that looks like it's produced by the US government. This how-to guide tells citizens what to think, what not to think, and how to behave in a proper, patriotic manner. The visual look of the book will complete the disguise. Much like The Onion, Citizen You! is delivered in unblinking newspaper journalese. Citizen You! will be stylistically consistent, staying firmly in the template of a government-released instructional handbook. Putting on the mask of the Bush administration and speaking in their language gives the book a more sarcastic and biting delivery than if it were to rail against them from the outside. Chapters include "Welcome, Citizen" by John Ashcroft, "20 Questions You Sh. N° de réf. du vendeur LU-9781565849150
