"Eros, Indiscriminate"
At the door the wolves step
backwards into a box. My chained
father attempts to wing himself
with flame. His face hosts
a second face seared by the mental
hazards the wolves find stinky
and reject. Outskirting his heart,
mother dangles the sucked-out
pelts of her wild children. Love
hiss and sexy nightmare. Eros:
an indiscriminate register.
All the bones yarn up.

First edition, first printing, stated. Signed and inscribed in ink on title page by the author: [(The First Flag) is for Maria Damon, one of its primary midwives, and great ally of its author. With love always and so much gratitude Sarah]. English language. Softcover with pictorial wrappers. Collection of 66 poems in five sections with black-and-white illustrations. 8 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. 10 oz. xxvi, 158 pp. Use. Text clean. Near Fine. ISBN: 9781566893268. "'The First Flag' is a mystic alimentary, blood, bone, and pearl poetics that is utterly engaging in its seductive conversational tone. But it?s an odd conversation as Fox periodically cries her brains out in ecstasy, disbelief, grief. It?s a luminescent accomplishment, lush with decay, exploding with impossible meldings of stench and shimmer. By way of a powerful natal femininity she claws back the oral threads of her story. I wanted to be right there when her words crowned. Her sentences deliver. It?s not just that her language is a trip, she is really saying something you find you want to hear all the way down. And the footnotes are delightful.? Signed and Inscribed. N° de réf. du vendeur 01407
