Set amidst the harsh, heartless street subculture of New York City, Times Square Rabbi is the inspirational and captivating account of author Rabbi Yehudah Fine's tenacious efforts to help the struggling kids he finds there and the positive and often miraculous changes that take place in their lives.
Each of this book's stories recounts a life Fine has touched, while illustrating a principle of his eight-step program for self-discovery and renewal a program based on the teachings of Hebrew philosopher Maimonides, whose Hilchos Teshuvah (freely translated as The Path to Meaning and Hope) remains as relevant and powerful a guide to inner growth and spiritual reawakening on the cusp of the twenty-first century as when written in the twelfth century.
Times Square Rabbi dramatically illustrates how crisis can produce profound transformation, and how one person can make a difference in the lives of others.
YEHUDAH FINE has spent most of his life working with kids and families as a rabbi, educator, and therapist)

Présentation de l'éditeur

"The message Yehudah brings to parents and teens...is that even when a teenager's life is in crisis, caring can produce profound transformation," writes The Chicago Tribune. As reported by Hadassah Magazine, Yehudah Fine "spent ten years as the 'Times Square Rabbi,' patrolling the New York streets, reaching out to homeless teens, runaways, and prostitutes." These are his stories, real and fictionalized, heartbreaking and uplifting, diverse as the city streets themselves. Formerly from Hazelden Press, this special republication by Unlimited Publishing LLC preserves gripping accounts of Fine's unique experiences for a new generation of readers.
