About the author

Dr Benzwie is internationally known for her work using movement and the expressive arts in education and psychotherapy. She received her B.S. and M.A. in early childhood education from New York University and her Ed.D. in dance from Temple University and her M.S.S. from Bryn Mawr College. Her diverse background in the arts, psychology, holistic health, and education makes her a moving spirit in the cause of learning, therapy, and creativity. Teresa has worked extensively with people of all ages and abilities throughout the United States and abroad and has developed her own distinctive method of guiding and empowering children and adults towards self-acceptance.

Dr Benzwie spent many years teaching in the inner city school of Camden, New Jersey and New York City and was on faculty at Temple University. She is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice, and teaches Therapeutic Application of Dance Education at Hahnamann/Drexel University. She is also the author of A Moving Experience (book and video), and Alphabet Movers.

About the Illustrator Robert Bender started out in NYC doing editorial art for magazines and Newspapers. In 1991 he ventured into children's books. Since then he has written and/or Illustrated over a dozen books for children. His first, A Little Witch Magic, was featured in Publishers Weekly's "Flying Starts" semi annual column. Several of his books have been exhibited in the prestigious Original Art Show at The Society of Illustrators in New York City. Artwork from his version of The Three Billygoats Gruff was acquired by the Zimmerli Art Museum in Rutgers, New Jersey. He was given a solo show of that work. The Mazza Collection in Ohio recently acquired Art from Barnyard Song. That book was also selected for a Carolyn Field Honor in Pennsylvania, and was selected for Publishers Weekly's "Best Books '97," and American Booksellers "Pick of the List." Some of his recent books have been collaborations with children. He currently lives on a farm in PA with his wife, daughter, ten cats, a dog, and other assorted beasts.
