Each activity includes a humorous picture and a description of the situation shown in the picture. The student is required to give an explanation for the situation depicted. In one of the stories, a woman is shown sleeping between two pieces of bread. The story says:

Maria fell asleep when she was working in a bakery. The pieces of bread made a very comfortable bed. Explain where this bed of bread came from, as you tell a funny story about this "big bread" picture.

All of the activity pages may be reproduced. This book has been used by speech-language pathotlogists, classroom teachers, and others to stimulate the development of language and thinking skills that are critical for academic success.
