The Odyssey of Clyde the Camel is based on a European vacation that the author took with her two grandchildren. It is part travelogue and part fantasy. Just about everything in the book is true with some “poetic license” taken. The story is told through the eyes of a stuffed camel that Nachin acquired on her journey. Clyde is naïve in the ways of the world but gains deep insights into human nature while accompanying the group of travelers. This story conveys Nachin’s philosophy that one should try and find the humor in every challenging situation. She hopes that people of all ages will find the story entertaining as well as informative. "This delightful narrative of Clyde the Camel takes readers on an adventure through Europe, offering an educational outlook on the areas visited along with some insightful observations about life. A must read for travelers or those with an inquisitive spirit." - Susan Timberlake, Elementary School Library Media Specialist "Being British, I enjoyed the dry sense of humour displayed by Clyde. Sarah's British English/American English translations in the glossary were right on target." - John St. John, Internationally acclaimed Composer and Musicologist. "The Odyssey of Clyde the Camel is an entertaining and fun read and wonderful escape for the mind and spirit. Read this book and you'll see why it left me with a smile on my face and an urge to plan a European adventure." - Roslyn Franken, Speaker and best-selling Author

The Odyssey of Clyde, the Camel is Sarah J. Nachin’s third full-length published work. This whimsical travelogue is based on fact with some embellishment for entertainment purposes. Her other books are non-fiction. "Ordinary Heroes, Anecdotes of Veterans", relates stories of men and women who served in the military during five decades of conflict – World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. "The Long Journey," co-authored with Felicia McCranie, is an inspiring story of a woman who grew up in the Philippines, immigrated to the United States and overcame almost insurmountable obstacles. Sarah is a “jack of many trades” and she hopes a “master of some.” Besides writing, her other passions are travel and photography. Sarah divides her time between her cottage in the Catskill Mountains and her home in Spring Hill, Florida. Her husband, Johnny Spinoso is her biggest fan and most trusted critic. He keeps her grounded in the real world. For more updates and other information on Sarah go to her three Facebook pages: Sarah Nachin, Sarah J. Nachin, Author and The Odyssey of Clyde the Camel.
