Des Hynes had a long career in the Royal Navy, traveling the world and observing a variety of beliefs and lifestyles, but it was watching how Reiki healing helped his wife Viv cope with her cancer treatment that led him to become a Fire Reiki Master Healer. He went on to take an interest in how energy healing and the mind and body work together. He believes that the mind matters when it comes to health.
