Leipzig, J.C. Hinrichs, 1905. Facsimile of the first edition of 1905. When Reisner met Mrs. Phoebe Hearst, mother of Willim Randolph, it was a turning point in his career. She funded his excavations in Egypt on behalf of the University of California, from 1867-1905. Reisner acquired this medical papyrus in 1901, which he named in her honor. It dates from the first have of the second millennium B.C. and is written in hieratic script. The ailments for which cures were offered range from "a tooth which falls out" and "a remedy for treatment of the lung" to bites by human beings.
