Thomas A. Lincoln, MD, has life-long personal experience of living with and treating diabetes. He has counseled and treated hundreds of people with diabetes and although he is now retired continues to work in diabetes education. John A. Eaddy, MD, who also has type 1 diabetes, is the deputy chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee. He has focused his career on teaching professionals and patients about intensive self-management of diabetes.
