PAUL R. PETERSEN is a retired U.S. Marine Corps master sergeant and combat veteran of Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. He is a lifelong resident of Jackson County, Missouri, near where William C. Quantrill operated. The author of Quantrill of Missouri: The Making of a Guerrilla Warrior, he lives in Raytown, Missouri.
