Biographie de l'auteur

Filmmaker and author George Levenson found inspiration in his backyard garden and brought it into the kitchen of his house in Santa Cruz, California, where he and his wife, Vicki, raised their three children. George Levenson also wrote and directed the Pumpkin Circle book and video. His films, including Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, have been broadcast in over thirty countries and are in the collections of every major library and school district in North America.

Shmuel Thaler, an award-winning photojournalist, has been a staff photographer at the Santa Cruz Sentinel since 1987. He has also been published in Time, Newsweek, People Magazine, and most major U.S. newspapers, and has contributed to six children’s books, two with Tricycle Press, Pumpkin Circle and Piece=Part=Portion. Thaler lives in Santa Cruz with his favorite subjects--wife, Kathy, and daughters, Kayla and Hannah.
