Atheists deny we can know God because they deny there is a God to know. But even believers who affirm God's existence sometimes don't know him. Frank Sheed was one of the best -known Catholic writers and apologists of the 20th century. He was the founder of the Catholic publishing house of Sheed & Ward, which published some of the greatest Catholic authors of the twentieth century. His own books include To Know Christ Jesus, A Map of Life, Theology and Sanity, Society and Sanity, and Saints Are Not Sad, all published by Ignatius Press.
