Synopsis
The Bible doesn't come with a secret decoder ring, which means that it is left to church theologians to make sense of the Bible's many intricate and overlapping themes. Over the centuries, the church has identified several themes--such as love and covenant--that have helped the faithful to better understand a sometimes bewildering book.

À propos des auteurs
Michael Dauphinais (PhD, University of Notre Dame) is Fr. Matthew L. Lamb Professor of Catholic Theology and chair of the department of theology at Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Florida. He is the coauthor, with Matthew Levering, of Knowing the Love of Christ.
Matthew Levering (PhD, Boston College) is the James N. Jr. and Mary D. Perry Chair of Theology at Mundelein Seminary, University of Saint Mary of the Lake, in Mundelein, Illinois. He is the author of numerous books, including Engaging the Doctrine of Revelation, Engaging the Doctrine of Creation, Engaging the Doctrine of the Holy Spirit, and Ezra & Nehemiah in the Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible series. He serves as coeditor of the journals Nova et Vetera and the International Journal of Systematic Theology and has served as chair of the board of the Academy of Catholic Theology since 2007.
