Following a trip to France to study the architecture of a classic Normandy chateau, author Stanley Mazor created floor plans on his home computer, and constructed an 1,800 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath summer home. Following the original plan, a 3,000 square foot left wing was added. Finally, the right wing shown in the figures below was completed, and is fully covered in the new second edition. The techniques used and lessons learned in the process make this book an ideal resource for new home designers and professionals alike. It is profusely illustrated with more than 70 photographs and many diagrams.

Silicon Valley innovator Stanley Mazor has more than 40 years experience as a computer architect and chip designer. He has been a guest lecturer at Stanford, the University of Santa Clara, KTH in Stockholm, and in China, Finland and South Africa. He has published more than 50 articles and two books. He is in the Inventor’s Hall of Fame, a recipient of the American Innovator Award, the Kyoto Prize, the Robert Noyce Award, the SFSU "Wall of Fame," and a PC Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also an amateur architect.
