Hari Sharma, MD, a Western physician with an impressive list of titles, is in reality a game changer. A reality changer. That is, he is looking to revolutionize and reform the approach to cancer as a whole, not just chip away at it. His other book on disease is not just "Some Effective Approaches to a Tough Problem." It is Freedom from Disease. Dr. Sharma's career represents a synthesis of the modern-day knowledge of Western medicine and the ancient knowledge of the natural, comprehensive Vedic system of health care. He has extensively studied, practiced, and researched both systems. In addition, Dr. Sharma has studied under many spiritual teachers and has extensive knowledge of the Vedas and various spiritual practices. He had the honor of being named Fellow of the National Academy of Ayurveda by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr. Sharma is Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Natural Products Research in the Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and the American Board of Pathology, a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition and Emeritus Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a member of various national and international professional societies. Dr. Sharma is past Chair of the Integrated Medicine Committee of National AAPI (American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin). He has been practicing Ayurveda at The Ohio State University Integrative Medicine clinic since its inception in 2005. Dr. Sharma is a frequent lecturer at conferences worldwide. He has published over 150 research articles and authored/coauthored five books related to Ayurveda, including Ayurvedic Healing and Awakening Nature's Healing Intelligence.
