A witty tale, perfectly capturing what it feels like to be little and alone. It's a touching piece of work which moves along at an absorbing pace and finishes with a flourish when all comes right in the end (West Sussex Gazette 2003-01-09)
The text is deceptively simple and contains a fair share of fun and sharp observation. It deals neatly with aspects of sibling rivalry and with a young child's awareness of parental tensions. The tidy combination of text and illustration is likely to appeal greatly to the keen, bright young reader embarking confidently on an independent reading journey (The School Librarian 2003-03-01)
Addresses the realities of family life in a bright and humorous way. With easy-to-read prose and colourful illustrations, this book will provide the ideal encouragement for younger readers ready to read on their own. (Family Interest Magazine 2003-01-01)
Paula Danziger was born in Washington DC, because, her parents said, 'In that way no state could disown her'. A short while later the family moved to New Jersey where they remained, except for a brief time spent on a farm in Pennsylvania. Previously a teacher, Paula's first book, The Cat Ate My Gymsuit, was published in 1974. Since then she has written more than twenty books, including the bestselling Amber Brown series with Tony Ross. Paula lives in New York City, but spends a lot of time in London, when she isn't travelling the world. She likes reading, being with friends, shopping, playing pinball and putting stickers on everything.
