Synopsis

Mini quilts are all popping up all over. Now you can learn the techniques to make magical miniature quilts of your own.
In their purest form miniature quilts are scaled-down versions of their full-size quilt block cousins. Classic quilt designs such as Log Cabin, Fans, Kaleidoscope and Churn Dash, just to name a few, are explored in a miniature setting, many with fresh new fabric combinations. Miniature designs provide quilters with the perfect opportunity to explore creative options for unique block settings.
Miniature quilt making satisfies the need to complete a quilt quickly, making them perfect for gift giving. Fabric requirements are much less than full-size quilts. Miniature quilts are perfect for stash or scrap quilting.
Unlike a full-size quilt which is best viewed from a distance, the intricate details of a miniature quilt encourage the viewer to step in for a closer look. Friends and family will be amazed and delighted at your ability to quilt on such a small scale. The easy to follow instructions in this book will have quilters completing projects in no time!

À propos de l'auteur

Christine Carlson, born and raised in the Chicago area, brought up her two children in Florida before moving to the Atlanta area and starting her miniature quilting career. She lives in Cumming, Ga. As her love of quilting became a passion she saw that she would never be able to make all of the quilts she desired in her lifetime, so she focused on miniature quilt making as a way of satisfying her designing and sewing skills. Over time this lead to authoring, teaching, and lecturing regionally and nationally. Her first book, Bias Square Miniatures, published in 1995 by That Patchwork Place, laid the groundwork for her working exclusively with a miniature bias square ruler technique. Her second book, Illustrated Guide to Scrap Miniature Magic, published in 2003 by House of White Birches was a comprehensive guide to techniques used in making miniature quilts.
