À propos de l'auteur

Henry Augustus Shute (1856-1943) was an American lawyer, judge, and author best known for his humorous stories about boyhood in Exeter, New Hampshire. Born in Exeter, he attended Phillips Exeter Academy and graduated from Harvard University in 1879. During the 1890s, the Exeter News-Letter began publishing his recollections of childhood, material that eventually developed into his popular stories about Plupy and his friends.Published in 1902, The Real Diary of a Real Boy brought Shute national recognition and inspired a succession of related books, including Sequil to the Real Diary, Real Boys, and Plupy the Real Boy. His stories later appeared widely in The Saturday Evening Post. Remembered for his lively humor and convincing recreation of childhood thought and speech, Shute created an affectionate but unsentimental record of small-town New England life.
