Synopsis

The poetry in this collection is intended to invite the reader to consider the beauty and vitality to be found in things unfinished, as they are always reminders of what can be finished, as difficult to imagine as that is. The poems focus on the worlds of the seen as well as the unseen worlds, exploring what is real and what is merely fancied. Borrowed from the language of art, "non finito" invokes a fascination with unresolved and open-ended occurrences and events. These poems cover vast terrains, from "unfinished" lives to symphonies, sculptures, and paintings intentionally or inadvertently left unfinished. What did the artists want us to learn or feel? These poems explore this tension.
