Synopsis

Each book of the Bible is important, but the last book is the Consummation and climax of God’s Revelation.
Revelation is primarily significant because it is a book about “things” which must shortly come to pass. Many of these things we would not know if the book of Revelation were not in the Bible. It is the only major prophetic book in the New Testament.
John was commanded not to seal the book (Rev. 22:10), and those who read it are promised a special blessing (Rev. 1:3). Apparently, therefore, the book was expected to be intelligible and helpful to those who read it. It is an apocalypse (literally, a Revelation), designed not to mystify, but to clarify.
In these brief notes we shall avoid the pitfalls of attempting to present something new and novel just for the sake of being different. Likewise, we shall steer clear of repeating threadbare cliches.
This is not by any means a scholarly study; it is simply a compilation of the actual writings that were used in my book “Rapture Ready.” May this study of the Revelation truly be, as the name implies... “Revelation Commentary” an unveiling of the truths found in this wonderful book.

Dr. J.L. Cook writes to comfort the faithful and to warn the unrighteous of approaching punishment. “While believers will not endure the horror of the Tribulation,” he writes, “we must know the times so to be faithful witnesses.” He concludes with the passionate and sobering exhortation, Do not be left behind.
