Synopsis

THE KOREAN SPIRIT: POEMS is a collection of poems that captures the hopes and the fears of ethnic Koreans around the world. Also, there are many poems in the book of poetry that captures the Korean "han" (angst) relating to Korean history and past, such as the Japanese Occupation of Korea (1910-1945). Particularly of note is the way the words of The Lord's Prayer from the Gospel of Matthew is applied through poetry in the Korean historical consciousness and experience.
