Kersey Graves was a skeptic, atheist, rationalist, spiritualist, Nontheist Friend, reformist, and writer. Graves felt that religion led people away from truth, and he wrote his views in The Biography of Satan, The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors, and the Bible of Bibles. Called unscholarly by critics such as Philadelphia's Reverend John Taylor Perry, he still insisted that religion was a concoction by priests and consisted of myth and superstition. A 2003 movie, The Da Vinci Code, made mention of his views. Madalyn Murray O'Hair was a fan of his work.
