Masks are an ancient tradition of the Alutiiq people on the southern coast of Alaska. Sven D. Haakanson Jr. is the director of the Alutiiq Museum and was a 2007 MacArthur Fellow. Amy Steffian is the deputy director of the Alutiiq Musuem. They both reside in Kodiak, Alaska.
