À propos de l'auteur

Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892), later Baron Tennyson, was one of the defining English poets of the Victorian age and served as Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom for more than forty years. His work combined lyrical beauty, formal control, emotional seriousness, and a deep engagement with questions of faith, grief, heroism, empire, memory, and moral responsibility. Among his best-known works are "The Lady of Shalott," "Ulysses," "In Memoriam A.H.H.," "The Charge of the Light Brigade," and Idylls of the King. His treatment of Arthurian legend helped shape the modern literary imagination of Camelot, making his poetry central to Victorian literature, British poetry, and the continuing reception of medieval romance.
